Our Story
The name Minée, which is a portmanteau of our first names, captures the shared passion that we bring to chocolate making. We founded Minée in 2019 with the belief that, like the finest wines, the finest chocolates should reflect the characteristics of their terroir (their natural environment) and the craft that goes into making them.
For months after founding the company, we searched far and wide locating and sampling the highest-grade single-origin (and ethically produced) cacao beans available. After many conversations and sampling of beans in their various states, we chose a region of Ecuador whose beans are considered amongst the finest in the world. We have created a blend of beans between four distinct microclimates in this region that develop the core of our chocolate.
We then spent three years refining our recipes and honing our process. The small batches of bars that we release are each like an ephemeral work of art, produced to maximally release the flavor of the bean via an exquisite velvety mouthfeel.
We’ve had joyous moments speaking to customers who have stopped mid-sentence while sampling our chocolate to revel in aroma and flavor of our confections. If our chocolate can hold you for a moment and offer you a similar delight, we will have done all that we could wish for.
